LFA Releases Knockout League Fixture

The draw for the 2002 Knockout national
league has taken place in Monrovia. Speaking at the draw held at the
Antoinette Tubman Stadium today, the Vice President for Operations at the
Liberia Football Association, Siaka A. Sheriff, said the Knockout league
would commence immediately following the end of the national league,
probably the first week in September.
An LFA Press and Public Affairs release issued today said Mr. Sheriff
expressed thanks to the teams and stressed that without them, the LFA would
be an incomplete house.
The LFA release said Liberia’s Knockout champion LPRC-Oilers has been drawn
against Second Division side Mighty Electrons.
The draw which this year pitched almost all second division clubs against
first division clubs was welcomed by the teams through their representatives
present at the occasion.
Knockout pairings include Cardinals versus ROZA, BUSA versus LTC Satellite,
Ducor Defenders versus LISCR, Mark Pros versus Sinkor United, Devereux
versus NPA Anchors, Black Star versus Ajami Star, Small Town International
versus Monrovia Club Breweries and Defense Invaders versus Watanga FC.
Others are Karn United versus Invincible Eleven, Olympic FC versus
Millennium Stars, LMA Green Peppers versus Young Survivors, St. Anthony
versus St. Joseph Warriors, Roots FC versus Mighty Barrolle, Alliance FC
versus Might Blue Angels, Haja FC versus Bassa Defenders and SOS Trotters
versus Zelors.
The release added that LFA Secretary General Yanqueh Borsay speaking at the
ceremony said the dates for the various matches would be announced later.
