Serbian SuperLiga club side FK Donji Srem Pećinci central defender, Omega Roberts and FC Fassell shot-stopper, Sampson Giddings have pullout of Liberia’s 2017 Group-A nations’ cup qualifier with Tunisia.
One capped Giddings is recovering from fingers’ injury and wouldn’t be in full readiness for Saturday’s crucial encounter against the North African. “I’m not wholly certain as to whether Giddings will recover in time for Saturday match,” Lone Star coach, James Salinsa Debbah told a news conference over the weekend.
The goalkeeper, who made his Lone Star debut against Guinea in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier on July 5, 2015, at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium is being tipped by football pundits for Lone Star NUMBER 1 shirt, following his splendid performance with the ‘Soccer Missionaries’ in the Liberia Football Association 2014-2015 national first division league.
Omega Roberts has also pulled out of Saturday’s encounter. The ‘stopper’ according to report has sent a communication to coach Debbah informing him that he will not be coming for the Monrovia for September 5 clash.
Roberts was booed last time he played for Lone Star, as he was substituted by then coach, Kaetu Smith in Liberia 2-2 draw with the Super Eagle of Nigeria- during the African Cup of Nations Qualifier at the Samuel Kanyan Doe Sports on September 8, 2012.
