The Warriors technical team has released the names of players to be considered for the final squad to face Liberia on 11 June in a qualifying match for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations finals.

Arguably the best talents at the moment, Knowledge Musona and Khama Billiat headline the provisional Warriors team to prepare for battle  against the Lone Star on 11 June at the National Sports Stadium

Dutch Cup winner, Marvelous Nakamba maintains his place from the previous AFCON team and so did Onismor Bhasera, Tendai Ndoro, Teenage Hadebe and the Golden Arrows Duo of Kuda Mahachi and Danny Phiri.

Team manager Wellington Mpandare announced the 25-member squad on behalf of the technical department, and he highlighted that the team was open to change because there is a likelihood of getting more players, especially England-based Tendayi Darikwa.

Mpandare underscored that team selection was solely based on current form and compatibility with the coach’s preferred type of play, putting to bed allegations that certain players from the previous AFCON campaign were blacklisted.

“Players were selected based on current form and the way they play, looking at how they fit into the coach’s type of play.

“It was never communicated to me officially that there are players who should not be considered for national team selection,” Mpandare said.

Camp commences on Monday 29 May and training begins on the following day.
