The Es Viry Chatillon midfielder was along with Dioh Williams, Patrick Ronaldingo Wleh, Kpah Sherman omitted from the Lone Star squad that is expected to face Tunisia on September 4, 2015, Coach James Debbah’s reported listing has revealed.
Alseny Keita who plays for French 3rd division club Es Viry Chatillon has been a regular in the Lone Star squad in the last five years, but is yet to be called by new national team head coach James Debbah.
Keita is a gifted defensive midfielder and his absence in the squad has got central defender Patrick Gerhardt being forced to play defensive role. He is experienced, matured and consistent.
At same time striker, Patrick ‘Ronaldinho’ Wleh, who plies his trade for Malaysian Premier League club PKNS has again been excluded from Debbah’s full listing of players to feature against Tunisia.
Wleh has been in top form since his return from knee injury, scoring four goals for PKNS this season.
He made name when he scored as the Malaysia All Star earned a 1-1 draw against English Premiership side, Liverpool FC in a friendly last month.
The former LISCR FC hit-man was previously left out of the squad by Malaysia National team head coach Dollah Salleh, but was included after he pulled out a brilliant performance in a friendly against the Malaysia All Star by netting twice which prompted the technical staff to make a quick u-turn by including him.
Other players yet to receive a call from Debbah included experienced forward, Dioh Williams and Kpah Sherman who recently joined South African Premier League side Black Aces.
There are reports that he has included several unattached players in the Lone Star squad for the crucial clash against Tunisia for the second match of the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier on September 4, 2017 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) in Monrovia.
The likes of midfielder Theo Weeks, Sekou Jabateh Olisseh and Adolphus Nagbe Marshall are unattached, but were called by Debbah.
However, Coach James Debbah is yet to make public his foreign based payers, but a source from both the Liberia football Association and the camp of the national team has confirmed the listing.
