Jabateh back in Champions League

The forgotten star might be in the limelight once again after his Romanian Club Astra Giurgiu was crowned champions of the top soccer league Liga on Monday night.
Liberian International Sekou Jabateh Oliseh could be back in the European Champions League after his club Astra Guigiu won the Romanian’s top flight league.
Giugiu secured the championship on Sunday night, when rivals Steaua Bucharest drew against Pandurii Tg. Jiu, but they still defeating Dinamo Bucharest by 4-2 on Monday to lift the cup.
Jabateh signed a 4-month contract with Astra in March and is expected to be in the team up to the end of June. His contract may however be extended.
The former CSKA Moscow attacker featured in the world most prestigious club competition, the European Champions league where he showcased his talents against some of Europe’s top rated clubs including Spanish giant, Real Madrid.
Jabateh however struggled to maintain his place at the Russian Giant, thus ending loan deal with Greece top flight side PAOK Salonika before ending off at fellow Russian Premiership Outfit, Kuban Krasnodar where he was on fire as he became a regular and scored four goals with several assists.
The trophy was Astra first in their history. The Club was founded in 1921 and moved from Ploiesti to Giurgiu in 2012, had already won Romania's Cup and Super Cup in 2014. The team, also winner in the regular season, will play in the third qualifying round of UEFA Champions League.
