James Debbah is calling “ All Hands On Deck” for Togo
By Staff Reporter
The head coach of the Sr Men National Football team announced via his Facebook page “All hands on deck!!! I am going to call-up all our best players...Grandpa Doe included! he has sincerely apologized to his team-mates as well as every member of the technical staff including me,and most importantly, the Liberian people who has facilitated the progress of the National Team(Lone Star)by paying their taxes.”
The Lonestar head coach later posted on his page "(Francis"Grandpa"Doe) I must acknowledged the acceptance from football fans around the country as well as the Pundits for the recalled of Grandpa Doe back to the squad. I believe everyone deserves a second chance, but I hope this time around Mr.Doe and I will be on the same path-to build a discipline and competitive team that will promote the image of the country positively. Upon arrival in Liberia and before he wears the Red,White and Blue jersey Mr.Doe will definitely have to sign a"DISCIPLINE CONTRACT"which will entail that whenever a re-occurrence of lapses in decorum on his part will mean terminal exclusion from the National Team.(The Lone Star)"
This makes it official that Debbah will be calling up Francis grandpa Doe (The Liberiansoccer.com Tebelleh King 2016). For the important game against Togo in June.
Debbah dropped Doe from the team after a series of issues between Doe, Debbah and the Fans. Doe had just scored one of the biggest goals in Liberian history when he notched the game winner against Tunisia.
After the home game that ended 1-1 against Guinea Bissau, Debbah dropped Doe from the squad.
Doe has not been called since then. He missed the 3-0 win in Guinea Bissau, the 3-0 away loss to Ivory Coast and the recent 5-0 home victory against Djibouti in Monrovia.
Liberian international goal machine, Francis Grandpa Forkey Doe, who plies his trade with Felda United in the Malaysian Super League is on fire, scoring 7 goals in 8 games for his club. He already has 2 Golden boots under his belt and looks to be on his way to a 3rd Golden Boots Championship.
Debbah knows that to win against Togo in this very important match we will need to full team.
The partnership of Jerbo and Patrick Wleh has proven to be unsuccessful. Both players have the same style and have not complemented the each other in the attack.
The partnership with a hot Doe and Jerbo will cause a lot of trouble for the Togolese defense.
Debbah is going up against a very experience coach in Claude Le Roy of Togo in Monrovia at the ATS for the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier on June 4
With Liberia in the pole position at 9 points and Tunisia tied with Togo on 7 points, makes this the most important game in Liberian football in recent history
A win will leave Liberia at 12 points with Tunisia colleting the 3 points from the point’s donor Djibouti waiting for the last match with 10 points.
Liberia needs to head to Tunisia with the Group A champion on the line. A draw or win to get to the 2017 Nations cup!
