Dulee to Miss Europa Clash with Sevilla
By Wleh Bedell
Liberian international midfielder Dulee Johnson's quest to play his seventh EUROPA match in his career seems to be on hold as he is expected to miss the EUROPA round of 16 first leg clash between his new Norwegian club Molde FK and Spanish club cum defending EUROPA champions Sevilla on Thursday February 18, at the latter's homeground, the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
Cogent reports have it that the incisive midfielder who is in Spain with his teammates will not be in the match as one of his previous clubs, CSMS Lasi of Romania ,who he featured for in the 2014/15 season are demanding from Dulee's new club, Molde, a transfer fee claiming Dulee is still in someway attached to them.
This is however a news as the player ended his season with the club and styled for Moss FC during the second phase of the Norwegian Second Division in 2015 without CSMS Lasi making any claim for a transfer fee. Thus, many are wondering as to why did the Romanian club not ask Moss to give a transfer fee for Dulee, and perhaps it is due to the fact that Molde is a bigger club such request has being made by them.
Already, the case is with world football governing body FIFA with Molde reportedly expecting to get the final ruling in the next few hours as Dulee sayss CSMS Lasi is making unrealistic claims as he no loner belongs to them after serving his term with the Romanian club. "It is too unfortunate, too bad. "I was set to play, but this latest thing, such an unrealistic demand by the Romanian club (CSMS Lasi) has thrown things backward", the youngest member of the Liberia Lone Star squad at the 2002 African Nations Cup noted in a dispatch from Spain.
If all goes well, Dulee will play the second leg at home in Norway against Sevilla as he is expected to be in the stand for the first leg. Connoisseurs will therfore have to wait for next week to probably see player Dulee Johnson in action for his new club where he should be in an epic midfield battle with the likes of the Argentine international midfielder Ever Banega.
Dulee has so far played six EUROPA matches in his career since making his debut on July 19, 2007 away to Glentoran of Northern Ireland in a match he scored in the 89th minute when his club AIK Solna of Sweden hammered their opponents 5-0. Besides, he has played four UEFA champions league duels and is certainly an experienced campaigner who is hungry for more games.
