Liberia wants Iñaki Williams for its National Team

By LFA Press

The Liberia Football Association said it is in talks with Spanish Club Athletic Bilbao  over the possible acquisition of Iñaki Williams for the Liberian National Team, the Lone star.

LFA President Musa Bility said the football association’s representative in Europe has made contacts with Bilbao and prospects are ripe the Spanish borne player might likely don the red, white and blue.

A release from the LFA said several communications have been exchanged between Liberia and the club and a meeting involving the player will soon take place.

Williams was born in Bilbao, Biscay to a Ghanaian father and a Liberian mother and Ghanaian tradition calls for a child to take on the nationality of his mother.

The release quotes Mr.Bilty as saying that the LFA is doing everything humanly possible to get the Athletic Bilbao deadly striker to join the national team of his motherland land.

National team coach James Salinsa Debbah has urged the LFA to get in contact with Williams as the player is crucial to the development of the future of the Lone Star.
