Believe in Debbah's Lonestar
By Toyuwa Harris
Today we saw what it takes to build a team. Growing Pains are not setback but teaching moments. When the head coach James Debbah took the job, he said he had a 5 year plan. He is not thru year one and we see a real improvement from the team.
James Debbah , the head Coach of the Lonestar insists that we need Discipline and commitment , the culture of losing and indiscipline has to be eradicated before the building blocks are laid.
The 40 player pool and recruitment is underway as Debbah has called at least 2 Different players for every game he was managed the Liberian national team. The pool is growing and soon we will have the team that can get us over the hump.
Debbah today can get a better picture of his team and the holes he needs to fill. From this game he learned who will fight and play with passion, and who will just lay down.
He can use this game to prepare for our next matches against Djibouti in the African Cup of nations Qualifiers.
The technical staff needs to look for defenders with speed and skill. Midfielders that are ball winners and playmakers and strikers that can finish. We need to source our Foreign players and “ Cap Tie” them.
We play Djibouti on the 23d of March, 2016 on the road with the return leg at home March 26th in Monrovia.
Liberia sits in 2nd place with 3 points. The point’s giver in the zone Djibouti has allowed 10 goals in 2 games. We should be sitting at 9 points after the month of March and picking up the spoils of the Togo vs Tunisia head to head clash.
Our Home game against Togo will need a win at home to top the group and The away game in Tunisia might be for the chance to get to the nations cup.
