CAF’s WCQ Group Stages To Be Decided

Bafana Are One Of 32 Teams Playing This Evening

By Joe Crann - Nov 17, 2015 12:17 PM

The 20 teams that will take part in the CAF’s third round of qualifying for the 2018 World Cup will be finalised this evening, with Bafana Bafana hoping to book their place.

Guinea, DR Congo, Uganda, Zambia, Gabon and Morocco have already made sure that their name will be in the group stage draw when it is made, however 14 more games this evening will decide who will join them.

Shakes Mashaba’s side are one of the favourites to make it into the group stages after beating Angola 3-1 in the first leg of their second round tie, while a host of other nations also appear to have one foot in the next stage.

The 20 winners will be drawn into five groups of four later this week, with the games to start being played towards the end of 2016. Each team will play each other twice, with the nation that finishes top of each group booking a ticket to Russia 2018.
