Police Invites SWAL For Major Press Conference Today
-To Explain New Security Measures For Elephant Clash

By Roland Mulbah

The Liberia National Police (LNP) has invited all accredited members of the Sports Writers Association of Liberia (SWAL) to a major press conference today, November 4, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at the headquarters of the LNP.

According to authorities of the LNP, the high security measures being put in place for the 2018 World Cup qualifier between Liberia’s Lone Star and Africa champions, the Elephants of Ivory Coast scheduled for Friday, November 13, 2015 at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) will top the press conference.

In a communication to SWAL, the LNP informed the parent body of sports writing that the security measures will be explained to the fullest to the sporting media as to how they govern themselves during and after the encounter at the ATS.

At the same time, the Liberia Football Association (LFA) has written SWAL urging all of its accredited members who want to cover the November 13, 2015 match between the Elephant and the Lone Star to be at the ATS in the morning hours in order to avoid any impediment.

Meanwhile, members of SWAL will go to congress this Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Raji Farm for the adoption of SWAL’s Constitution.

SWAL’s leadership has already distributed the mini congress documents to its accredited members for the day-long event.

The leadership says the event will begin at 12:00 noon with only accredited members being considered as delegates.

Members who have not regularized their status will be considered observers and will not have anything to do with congress in terms of decision making.

SWAL says two buses will be available to take its members to Raji’s farm and back. The first bus will leave at 9:00 A.M. while the other bus will depart at 11:00 A.M.
