2016 LFA Champions Barrack Young Controller (BYC-I) have sealed the capture of former LISCR FC utility player Samir AT Kamara III commonly known as “Pepper.”

The 20-year-old Samir signed a three-year contract with the “Go Blue Boys,” officially from third division outfit Pepper FC. The signing was pushed through on Monday with both teams agreeing on the deal. Financial terms were undisclosed.

The Liberian Champions have been monitoring the progress of the “utility” player Kamara for the past four years and finally went after their man after his excellent performances in the LFA’s inaugural District League with his District (#11).,.

“Pepper,” has always been one of the favorites players in the country of the Chief Executive Officer of BYC Robert A. Sirleaf, and current BYC head coach Copper Sannah, who was his coach at LISCR FC three seasons ago. He became a key player of the Shipping Boys, when they narrowly lost the championship to Nimba United.

Samir Kamara has now become Copper Sannah’s third senior side player signed this season in addition to Ketu Jerbo (ELWA) and Yaya Bility (Keitrace).

"This is the target of every footballer to try to play for the top clubs in their country,” Kamara said. "They (BYC) is one of the biggest teams in Liberia and they always fight for every trophy in the country.”

"I'm so happy and proud to be here," added Pepper, who may be available to play against Mighty Barrolle.

"It's been two, three, four very hard days for me to get this done. I'm really happy - this is a great club. I'm prepared and ready for the challenge. He continued "I know there are many great players here and I will work hard to win a place in the team.

"I am looking forward very much to helping my new team-mates this season and for many years to come. "It's my dream to play in the CAF Champions League and I'm sure I will for BYC-I.

Kamara disclosed that he is a big fan of all of the BYC Players but acknowledges they all will be competiting for a starting berth. "It is a big challenge and responsibility for me to play alongside all of the great players at BYC, because their level is so high."

BYC’s Chairman Robert Sirleaf added: "AT is a very significant signing for us, capturing one of the talented/quality kid in the country with what we believe is yet his peak years ahead of him; we have long admired the talents of a player who is a proven prospect and “Pepper” arrival is a sign of our continuing high ambitions. I hope every BYC fan is as excited as I am with this news."

The Blues boss Cooper Sannah has selected both Karleo Anderson and Prince Kennedy at right back in four of BYC’s last league games. With the arrival of the utility player Kamara, the question now is, will he challenge right backs Karleo Anderson and Prince Kennedy (right back), or wingers David Tweh, Prince Saydee, Sporo Somah and Ketu Jerbo for a starting role.
