The charismatic Coach signed a two -year deal at United, and has told Insight Sport, the Club will be a formidable force under his guidance.

Newly signed Nimba United Head Coach Emmanuel Kaykay said he intends to build a solid team that will deliver the needed results at the NorthStar Stadium.

The former Barrack Young Controller (BYCII) Head Coach replaced Kollie Korvy who contract expired at the end of last season and is expected to guide the Mount Barclay supported Club for the next two seasons.

“Every Coach would like to work for Nimba United. They are a professional Club and one of the elite teams in the Country, so I am delighted to be a Head Coach,” the soft-spoken Kaykay said of the Mountaineers.

The youthful Coach could not rule out the challenges that follow in managing a top-rated Club like United, but he is adamant the Club has the pedigree to remain among the top teams in the League.

“It will be a challenging venture, but we believe the club will remain among the best teams on the local scene,” he added.

The 38-year also unveiled that he aims to win either the LFA First Division Championship or the Knockout Championship this season .He has already met with the players and disclosed his plans to them.

KayKay won the Liberia Football Association (LFA) Knockout Championship with BYCII and led the young Gold Blues to the preliminary rounds of the CAF Confederation Cup where the club was defeated on a 3-2 aggregate against Moroccan Club Kawkab earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Nimba United said it believes in the ability of Coach Kaykay to deliver the needed results.

“We at Nimba United believe in competition and young players and Coach Kaykay is a person with the same philosophy and ability,” a United’s statement said.

Nimba United finished the last LFA First Division League in 3rd place and the new Coach wants to change that.
