It is reported that Barrack Young Controllers are willing to listen to offers for center back defender Alvin MacCornel, aka “Lucio.”
The experience defender played less games/minutes than expected under BYC-I’s coach Cooper Sannah due to BYC’s more fast footed, aggressive defensive system.
The Liberian Champions are hoping to find a buyer for the former LISCR FC, Red Lion, and Garnerville FC defender who has found playing time difficult at the Blue Field, especially since Kemoh “John Terry” Kamara arrived at the club last season.
With intense competition from the legs of Prince “Rio” Jetoh, Francis “Stopper” Jallabah, Kamara, and now the newly promoted central back from BYC-II, Solomon Yarweh it is now believed that Maccornel is not in Coach Sannah plans for the upcoming 2016/2017 LFA league and CAF Champions League.
Maccornel, who is still contracted to the club for the next one season has been told it’s best for him to find a new club that is interested in him, although the “Go Blue Boys” now face a tough financial task of finding a buyer for one of their top earners. There are several clubs who are following the situation to bid for the gifted left footed defender.
There is tentative interest from Fassell FC, Nimba United and LPRC Oilers but it is still not clear where the player wants to go, or which club would best need his services. According to an officer of BYC, Alvin was happy with the decision in order to get his career back on track.
In addition, there are rumors that Monrovia Club Breweries has enter the race to signed Maccornel and give their team the needed experience in the CAF Cup, but Fassell also wants to sign the defender on loan something BYC is not willing to accept.
