The new Liberian Champions noted that Jerbo brings unprecedented speed that is only equaled to their prized asset Prince “Nani” Saydee.
The “Go Blue Boys” Confirmation now brings to an end earlier statement from the wonder kid that he was bound for Fassell FC, BYC’s fierce league rival. It is now confirmed that Jerbo will play for the “Go Blue Boys” when the new 2016/2017 league season kicks off, starting with the league winners BYC-I tackles LFA Cup champions Monrovia Club Breweries in the LFA Super Cup scheduled for 3pm Sunday, October 16 at ATS.
Accordingly, to recent rumors, Pastore will become BYC highest paid player in recent history, but with BYC’s tradition, financial terms were not disclosed during the unveiling ceremony.
The wonder kid has been a star player of ELWA & Lone star’s U-20 in the past two years, and was the club highest goal scorer during the just ended league campaign. Jerbo is also in the race with the 2016 LFA’s highest goal scorer BYC’s Mark Paye for its MVP’s award.
Keitu commonly called “Pastore” because of his natural skill and breakneck lighting speed will teamed up-front with Mark Paye, and the rising league star David Tweh, both of whom have extended long-termed deals with BYC.
Jerbo was quoted as saying- “after many months of reflection, thoughts, prayers, listening to my family and my very special advisor, James Blackett, BYC was the club for me, being able to wear the “Blue” of the club makes me proud. I can’t wait to represent BYC at Blue Field which is the most difficult grounds (BYC-I was undefeated at Blue Field) to play at in Liberia.”
Ketu was a key member of the Montserrado County team which lost to Grand Bassa County in the grand final of the 2015 National County Meet in a penalty Shoot-out.
The Club president Sekou Konneh told the media that signing the winger shows that BYC is ready to defend their title, and retain it at the end of the 2016/2017 league.
“As part of our program, we look for quality players and Pastore is a player we have been monitoring for some time and we are happy we finally reach agreement with him” said Mr. Konneh.
The BYC boss noted that they are preparing their team for the Confederation of African Football Champions League and will add more quality and experience players to the “Go Blue Boys”.
