Club Beer Is Liberia’s Caf Next Representative

…Declared Knock-out Winner

After waiting for 24 hours, Monrovia Club Breweries have become Liberia’s next representative at the 2017 edition of the Confederation of African Football (Caf’s) Competition.

Monrovia Club Breweries will represent Liberia in the Caf Confederation Cup following their declaration as winners of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) 2015/2016 knock-out Competition on Tuesday.

The Brushrod Island-based football club FA Cup title will officially be presented on Thursday at the LFA Headquarters on Benson Street, Monrovia.

Club Beer will be crowned in line with the rules and regulations of the Local Football House after an investigation was launched over the disruption of the finals of the FA Cup on Sunday by angry fans.

A fan ran unto the pitch at the time it was a thrown in favored of MC Breweries and assaulted central referee Jerry Yekeh at the far left fling of the playing pitch.

The action by that fan led to many other supporters invading the pitch leaving a handful of securities to guard the referees into the LFA’s ambulance and off it drove to safety.

Monrovia Club Breweries were seen by many analysts as the clear favorite to win the LFA Knock-Out competition, but it was a disappointment when angry supporters recognized to be fans of Mighty Barrolle halted the match at 87th minute.

Monrovia Club Breweries took the lead in the first half from an indirect kick from the six yard box through Blidi Jackson in the 19th minute to separate both sides.

The result has put to book double championship for Club Beer for this year’s league season, having won the second division title.

The Brushrod Island-based club has recorded its second crowned since 1994, when they won LPRC Oilers 1-0 in the same fashion to be champions in Second Division to play in the FA Cup final.
