MC Breweries Fight Mighty Barrolle For Liberian FA Cup Crown

BY Kolubah Zayzay

The Liberia Football Association 2016 League activities will formerly come to an end Sunday when the Liberian FA Cup title is decided.

Mighty Barrolle who is returning to top flight football since four years will face entertaining Monrovia Club Breweries in Sunday’s much anticipated Knockout final.

The two teams are returning to the first division, and will hope to crown their season on a high note.

Club Breweries, the defeated finalist in last season’s FA Cup, has never won the Cup, but will be hoping to end that drought Sunday when they take on the Rollers at the ATS.

Mighty Barrolle last played and won the Liberian FA Cup in 2010, when Garmondeh Karnga was ending his tenure as President.

With their respective performances in the second division this season, book makers tipped Monrovia Club Breweries as favorites to win the title ahead of Mighty Barrolle.

Club Breweries were favorites to win last year’s cup, but failed to BYC II in post-match penalties.

Report says, Club Breweries players have been promised huge bonuses to win Barrolle on Sunday to get their first chance of playing in the Caf Confederation Cup as well as ending the season as double champions after winning the second division cup.

Before that game on Sunday, the female version of the Liberian FA Cup will come between defending champions Earth Angels and Determined Girls.

Earth Angels who missed out on winning the women second division title to new rivals Senior Pros, want to retain the Liberian FA Cup to put smiles on the faces of their fans.

Determined Girls want to add their name to winners of the LFA Cup as well, so they will give the defending champions the run for their money.

The Liberian FA Cup game between Breweries and Barrolle will be officiated d by Deputy Chief Referee Jerry S. Yekeh.
