The ‘Kenyan Pepper Boys’ nailed first-tier side NPA Anchors 1-0 on Wednesday at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) to advance to the semi-finals of the LFA’s Knock-out competition and play maker Alieu Kamara said they are going all the way to the final.
The dreadlock play-maker said the players of Mighty Barrolle are not turning back in their quest to transform the team to its previous status.
“We have made up our minds to redeem Barrolle’s dented reputation”. Kamara told INSIGHT SPORT Wednesday after the Roller advance in the Liberia Football Association Knockout Championship.
“This is a great football club with great heritage and brand name and it deserves to be among the elite teams in the league, and we the players and technical team want to start the process and we believe the fans and officials will follow,” the Barrolle’s pass master added.
The attacker who have been inspirational for the Gbehzohn Boys said Wednesday’s victory over NPA is a sign that the Rollers can go on to win the FA cup in many years.
“We have not been at this level of Liberian Football for years. Reaching semifinal in the FA Cup has given us much inspiration and I think we will win the FA cup. I promise you,” Kamara added.
A Michael Jaesue’s 47th minute penalty gave the Barrolle the deserving victory over the port boys who are struggling for survival in the First Division.
However the Rollers will be without skipper Jaesue in the semifinal after he was handed a red card after scoring the goal.
The former LISCR FC defender reportedly insulted NPA Anchor goalkeeper Edwin Boakai after netting the goal.
Mighty Barrolle face Nimba United in the semifinal, while LISCR FC who took a bye to the semi will tackle Monrovia Club Breweries who defeated Jubilee FC 1-0 in the last quarterfinal on Thursday.
