BYC Wins LFA 2015/2016 Domestic League Championship

Barrack Young Controllers (BYC) has won the Liberia Football Association (LFA), Cellcom sponsored top domestic league championship.

The “Go Blue Boys’ celebration will be delayed by two matches, after they secured a 2-1 vital win over ELWA United at the Blue Field in PHP Community on Friday evening.

BYC came from a goal down to get the much need result. Thanks to Mark Paye brace in the 30th and 37th minute that overcame Kertu Jeboe lone goal scored in the 19th minute of the first stanza.

It can be recalled that BYC defeated ELWA United 5-0 in an away fixture to collect six points out of a back-to-back outing in this year’s league season.

The clinching of the title by BYC marks the ‘Go Blue Boys’ third in six years in Liberia’s football history.

The ‘Go Blue Boys’ are expected to be crown champions at the climax of this year’s league season.

ELWA United played excellently in the second stanza of the finals matchup but failed to display their equalizing tactics as BYC controlled most at their best.

The ‘Go Blue Boys’ after the match against ELWA will be left with the remaining fixtures of two, even if they are to be crown.

The League leaders last two home fixture will see them play away to NPA Anchors on Saturday, July 16 and host the ‘Giant Killers’ of Keitrace FC, Sunday, July 24.

BYC’s top scorer, Mark Paye was the star of the game, delivering a fine performance that had fans chanting his name throughout the 90 minutes.

Paye has recorded 16 league goals after 16 outing, making him the highest securer so far in the 2015/2016 national league.

BYC now sits at the table summit with 43 points above FC Fassell and defending champions, Nimba United who are seated at second and third places respectively with 34 and 32 points and will play this weekend.
