BYC 8 Points Clear on League Table

Barrack Young Controller (BYC) is now comfortably seated 8 points at the top of the Liberia Football Association (LFA) 2015/2016 First Division championship.
The “Go Blue Boys” extended their lead 8 and 10 points above title contenders, Nimba United and FC Fassell respectively following a superb 4-1 home win against Holder FC Wednesday.
BYC now has a record of seven unbeaten matches this league season on home grounds.
Wednesday’s win extends BYC winning record over Holder FC which failed to win any of the two matches against BYC this season.
The table leader walked away with 6 points and 10 goals in both clashes.
Holder FC, however, obtained 2 goals in the both encounters.
Prince Saydee started the goals festival from a header after several failed attempts by Benjamin Gbamy, Mark Paye in the first 20 minutes.
The winger headed team mate, Alpha James’ right footed cross at the back of Holder FC goalkeeper, Teah Klay nets to give BYC the lead in the 31st minute.
The goal is Saydee eighth for this year’s league season.
Holder came close to leveling in the 34th minute but Martin Barclay fire shot was rested in the arms of BYC’s “A” one, Mulbah Urey.
BYC’s attacker Mark Paye got doubled his side’s lead 38 minutes in the game, but his strike was caught in an offside position and cancelled by the assistant referee.
But undeterred Paye again shook Holders net with a brilliant strike from Saydee’s acute angle cross which was brilliantly converted into goal extending the lead 2-0.
Just before the end of the first half, David Tweh worsens Holders’ frustration with a third goal in the 43rd minute. The goal was assisted by Paye.
Former Grand Bassa County “A” one, Sekou Bayoh replaced Urey who sustained injury mid-time of the second half.
Paye doubled his goals in the 62nd minute giving his side 4-0 lead before Holder then pull back to prevent more goals against their side.
The two goals scored by Paye have recorded his 12 out of 12 league matches.
In the day’s other fixture but in the second division, Small Town collected all three points at the hands of Margibi Based, Mighty Blue Angel following a 4-0 win at the ATS, while the last encounter at the same venue saw Aries and Fair Play settled 1-1.
