Emmanuel O. Deah has been officially nominated as the Liberia Football Association (LFA) new Secretary General and is subject to confirmation by the FA’s Executive Committee.
The President of the Local Football House, Musa H. Bility on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at his year-end press conference made the pronouncement and said Deah has proven beyond all reasonable doubt that he is capable to serve in that capacity.
Regretting the untimely death of former Secretary General B. Alphonso Armah, the FA Boss said acting Secretary General Emmanuel Deah has done extremely well which gives him the reason to recommend Mr. Deah.
“This is to value the memory of the late Armah by continuing to do what is necessary for the improvement of the game,” he said.
Mr. Bility disclosed that the nomination has been his tradition in order to groom and promote people that have worked so hard in the LFA.
He said the action to recommend a new Secretary General to the EC is in line with his statutory responsibility.
He said Mr. Deah has exhibited commitment, hard work and good leadership in the running of the LFA Secretariat so far.
The Acting Secretary General will now wait for the next Executive Committee sitting which is expected to be convened by the Local FA Boss for their approval.
The 34 year-old took office as Acting SG September 21, 2015 following the illness and subsequent past over of the fallen SG, Alphorns Armah in early October.
At the level of Acting SG, Deah was instrumental in organizing three Fifa and CAF programs which benefited football stakeholders in the Country.
Deah during his entry at the LFA was appointed Procurement Officer of the LFA on March 29, 2010, before ascending to the position of Deputy SG for Operations on May 27, 2013.
While at that position, he later got promoted to the position of Deputy SG for Administration on January 19, 2015.
