By Roland Mulbah

There was no win for all hosts in the football category as the 2015 National County meet officially kicked off in four separate venues around the country.

In the opening match at the Dorris Williams Stadium in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, defending champions, Grand Bassa County was frustrated by Bong County 2-0, while on Sunday at the same venue; River Gee edged Sinoe County 1-0 to boost their chances of qualifying to the semifinal of the competition.

Margibi County suffered the biggest casualty after being defeated 3-1 by Montserrado County at the Nancy B. Doe Stadium in Kakata, Margibi County on Sunday.

In Zedru, Grand Gedeh County, the host went down by a 1-0 score line to Lofa County, while Rivercess and Krand Kru settled to a goalless draw.

In the other venue in Sanniquellie, Nimba County, the host forced Maryland County to a 1-1 draw, while Bomi County beat Grand Cape Mounty County 2-1 in the first encounter.

The competition continues tomorrow at the four venues with more exciting matches.
