One of Liberia’s traditional football clubs,Mighty Barrolle drew zero all with Joy Conquerors yesterday at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) in the first match of the second division relegation playoff of the Liberia Football Association (LFA).
Mighty Barrolle, arguably the most decorated football club in Liberian football history, was relegated three seasons ago from the topflight of the LFA league with the red and white outfit struggling to gain promotion back to the top flight of the country’s football.
The ‘Kanyan boys’ need an automatic win or a draw that involves goals to stay in the second division of the LFA after playing the previous zero all draw at home. According to authorities of LFA, the second leg will take place this Saturday at the ATS in Monrovia.
Mighty Barrolle’ President, Madam Julia Duncan Cassell, who is as well Liberia’s Minister of Gender and Development has been under serious pressure from keen followers of the club to step down after serving the position since 2010 leading the team to its first ever relegation.
