It seems Invincible Eleven (IE) former life-wire Josiah J. B. Seton has
proven unstoppable in the Malaysian league, as the prolific goal-getter has
increased his goal tally to 22 in his first season.
In a telephone conversation over the weekend, JB. Seton said he scored his
team's last goal in their 3-0 victory against Sarawa FC, a team Lamin Kiawu,
another former Invincible Eleven (IE) player plays for.
"God has done it for me again. I scored my 22nd goal on Saturday. This means
I have scored 14 goals in the Malaysian Championship, 6 in the Malaysian FA
Cup and 2 in the Malaysian Cup," JB disclosed.
Seton, who is popularly known as Africa's Dust or Sali Afrique plays for
SARAB FC of Malaysia. It is his first season in the Malaysian league.
It is no surprise that Josiah J. B. Seton is making head way in Malaysia.
When he left the shores of Liberia he landed in India where he stayed for
few months before going to Singapore. In India, he had no equal as he scored
goals at will. When he landed in Singapore, J. B. took the league by storm
and reigned terror on the defenses with his speed, dribbling skills and
shooting ability.
By the time his Singaporean club could realize that the African Dust was a
soccer gem, his present Malaysian club snatched him over. It is in the
Malaysian league that J. B. has blossomed into a lethal and prolific
goal-getter as well as a playmaker.
The ball skills of Seton are unquestionable. He swaggers down line with the
ball glued to his feet, turning and twisting as he bears down on his
opponents. Give him an inch of space on the outside and he'll take a yard,
bursting away from the defender as he speeds towards the byline before
firing a pinpoint shot across the penalty area. Sometimes he gets to the
line, checks for that split second that entices the desperate full back into
a lunging tackle, and darts away with the ball at his feet and the defender
on the floor.
J. B. who stands at 5 feet 10 inches effectiveness on the field overshadows
his stature. Still in his youthful age, Seton is set to become a regular
member of the new Lone Star that is to be formed shortly.
From humble origins in the Liberian league, J. B. as he is affectionately
called, rose to become a key player of Invincible Eleven IE), the club that
bequeath George Weah to national and international status.
African Dust came to limelight in 1995 when he was recruited by Invincible
Eleven (IE) then as a student of D. Tweh High School. J. B. has never looked
back since then.
He inspired Invincible Eleven (IE) to its first championship in the 1998-99
season since 11 years, the last year the incomparable George Weah won the
championship with the team before going professional. That season J. B.
clinched the LFA highest scorer title and narrowly missed out on becoming
the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for reasons best known to the LFA's technical
committee at the time. He later won the MVP and Highest Scorer titles in the
1999/2000 league.
