The Promoters of Liberian Athletes (PROLA) has heralded second division Mighty Blue Angels of Unification Town for emerging as the newly crowned Liberia Football Association Knock-out champions.

In a press statement issued and signed by its chairman, Joseph H. Farkollie, PROLA observes that the emergence of a second division side as a knockout champions is an unprecedented, but welcomed development in Liberia soccer.

"This achievement does not only underscore the success of the Liberia Football Association decentralization initiative, but more so, the need for greater extension of the scheme. The greater participation in the game, the better prospect for the improvement of its standard in Liberia," the release added.

PROLA stated further that it is also indicative that the days of big names in Liberian soccer are numbered, if not, over. And that other teams are equally endowed with talents as IE and Barrolle.

The release further reminds that as Mighty Blue Angels lifts the Liberian flag in next season's African Continental Championship, specifically the Cup-Winners-Cup, she will be lifting the hopes and aspirations of all Liberians.

PROLA is therefore calling on authorities of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Liberia Football Association and al well-meaning Liberians to galvanize the needed morale, financial and material support for Mighty Blue Angels as he embarks on the adventure as Liberia's flag bearer in the African Cup Winners Cup Competition.

Meanwhile, the Secretary General of PROLA, Bangalu Cole, who is presently in Accra, Ghana has given update on PROLA activities in that West African nation.

In an email dispatch to PROLA Chairman Joseph H.

Farkollie, Mr. Cole said upon his arrival he made it his duty to contact the celebrated Liberian boxer Hassan Omaru Dukuly and briefed him about the promotion being giving him.

He said boxer Dukuly has already registered to enable him carry out his profession. "Dukuly is the hottest sparer in Ghana. This means all the leading Ghanaian boxers love testing their skills with him during practice sessions. He is a delight to watch. The only problem is, in Ghana people over nationalistic."

The PROLA Chief Scribe disclosed that some communications have been made on behalf of PROLA with a leading boxing promoter in the United Arabs Emirates (UAE). "We are still awaiting a response," Cole said.

Meanwhile, Cole has asked PROLA Chairman Joseph H.

Farkollie if he can arrange for Christmas or New Year a fight in Liberia for the middleweight division. He said if this is done, it will help in promoting boxer Dukuly further.

In another development, the PROLA Chief Scribe has informed his firm that lot of Liberian football talents are wasting in Ghana. He said Joseph Keddie Hina, formerly of Invincible Eleven (IE) is back in that country after a brief spell in South Africa. He said Keddie was played on by his Ghanaian manager.

He said there is also Walton Morgan, who got stranded in Asia. He named Papa Kay, Gbokolo Chea (he is on his way to the USA on resettlement) and Mambo Saah as others who are still in Ghana.

Concluding, the PROLA Chief Scribe extolled 17-years old Zack Kranger for his outstanding performance. Cole says the players is one of the best Liberian out-coming midfielders he has ever seen.
