His fierce
drives, quick dashes and dazzling flickers typify Liberia’s Bob
Zeo who has become an admired figure in Ghana football followed
the 2005 Ghana League Clubs Association Annual Top Four Tourney –
Coca Cola Top 4.
Zeo who never
ceased to shin after an explosive start against Asante Kotoko,
grabbed a crucial equalizer against King Faisal in the last match
at the Kumasi Stadium and virtually double few minutes later with
a dipping lob, which a teammate easily tapped in.

fireworks against RTU at the Accra Stadium |
That goal
ensured Kpando Hearts of Lions were two points cleared of Accra
Hearts of Oak who were held by Real Tamale United in an
instantaneous fixture at the Accra Sport Stadium.
Accra Hearts
of Oak and Kpando Hearts of Lions were drawn from Group One, while
Kumasi-based Asante Kotoko and Alhaji Grusah’s King Faisal were
drawn from Group Two at the end of the 2004 Ghana Premier League.
Kotoko, the
then reigning champions, staged a walkout in their first match at
the Accra Sport Stadium after a debatable penalty decision against
them two minutes from fulltime with the score at 1-1 against Zeo’s
Hearts of Lions.
Real Tamale
United were imported to complete the quartet tourney meant to
prepare Ghana top four clubs drawn in all the African
competitions.
Except Kpando
Hearts of Lions that failed to meet CAF registration deadlines
citing several reasons, the rest of the other three teams have
already begun their African missions.
Zeo who is
poised to snatch the Top Four Best Player crown, slammed in three
reverberating goals to ensure Kpando Hearts of Lions lift its
first ever laurel since its formation three years ago.
Most times,
Bob Zeo brandishing a modish dreadlock was mistakenly identified
as a citizen of Suriname, a misrepresentation he easily dismissed
in several television and radio interviews.
“I’m from
Liberia, and don’t know that country they’re talking about, and
this is making my people angry at the refugee camp”.
Asante Kotoko,
Bob Zeo told Liberiansoccer, has asked for his signature, but
couldn’t meet his demands, but tense negations are said to be
ongoing between his club and the Ghanaian richest club.

Bob Zeo on one
of his expeditions in the Top Four Tourney |
Zeo, 19,
departed Liberia nearly two years ago, and landed into the folds
of Sekondi Eleven Wise, a first division outfit and has since been
demonstrating his worth.
It’s not
common to standup tall as a foreign player amongst the rampaging
talents dressed in the Ghanaian league, but even the highly
fastidious Ghanaian media had kind words for the Liberian
youngster:
Graphic Sports reported:
Zeo is the real stunner and
the
sensational Rasta-haired striker will be voted the best player of
this year’s Coca Cola Top four competition.
According to
feelers at the Ghana League Clubs Association, organizers of the
tournament, Zeo has impressed the technical committee charged with
voting for the best player more than everyone in the competition.
Zeo who until
his egress from Liberia, fielded for Invincible Eleven (IE) and
the Lone Star, has expressed his intentions to represent his
country against Senegal before he moves to Germany, where is
expected to undergo trial very shortly. |
