Williams qualified at last for elections

Written by Anthony A. Stephens

Star Sports has gathered that the Executive Committee of the LFA has over turned the secretariat decision to disqualify former Secretary General George Williams from participating in the up coming 20 March elections.

Mr. Williams along with former Liberian International defender Washington Blay were disqualified by the secretariat from participating in the process on Thursday.

But a highly placed source at the FA said the EC took the decision Friday evening following an intense meeting.

LFA Acting Secretary General Sam Bedford confirmed the information and said Mr. Williams qualification was done in good faith.

This means that Mr. George Williams will now face his former boss Izetta and Executive Committee member Musa Bility in the race for the LFA presidency.

The secretariat of the LFA also qualified all four candidates that applied for the position of Vice President for Administration in the elections.

They are incumbent Pennoh Bestman, EC members Sekou Konneh and Garmondeh Kanga and former Liberian International Musa Shannon.

The three candidates that applied for the position of Vice President for Operations were also given the green light to contest the process.

They are current VPO Adolph Lawrence, Joseph Fakollie and Alfred Sayon.

Those qualified to represent premier clubs at the level of the Executive Committee include Bishop John Allen Klayee, Moses Gargba, Alvin Wright and Faustinus Doe.
