 Will LISCR Players Be Paid?

                                                                    LISCR Lineup
Sentimental favorites LISCR FC on Sunday ended Mighty Barrolle unbeaten run in the on going LFA 2009 league season with an emphatic 2-0 drubbing, courtesy of what observers describe as adventurous football fro the victors and poor tactical awareness (changing of winning team after beating BYC 3-0) from the losers.

The win moved the Central Monrovia club, LISCR a step closer, but yet still far from the top, and are bracing themselves for tougher challenges.

After such a scrumptious victory, arguably the team's biggest this season, the question on the lips of many is whether LISCR players will be paid this time.

The entire playing body was astonished and dejected when the club president Mustapha Raji who is regarded as a "local football dictator" refused to pay his players for the month of April on grounds that they are performing poorly in the on going national championship chase.

"They say we are like Christmas light, at one point we are on and at another point we are off, we are not consistent, at one point we win, and then it is a draw or loss", one player who preferred anonymity noted.

Though it is not indicated in the players contract that their salaries would not be paid due to so called poor results, and this latest action or decision by Raji is highly discouraging.

One would wonder as what would have Raji done had he being a president of a highly rated club like Real Madrid that was trounced 6-2 by their rivals, Catalans giants Barcelona in the el-classico. Would he has ordered these players not to be paid?

It is generally believed that Raji interferes a lot, and is so obsessed with the little he spends in terms of transferring players and as well arrangement for some Indonesian based misfits to augment his club.

Moreover, the players in the various clubs are virtually peers, and that no club has absolute dominance over the other.

Most of the players are recycled ones, as they leave from one club to the other each season. The level of motivation is not high, and besides LPRC Oilers, NPA Anchors and Russian-backed UMC Roots that are inarguably the highest paid clubs in terms of players salary, the rest of the clubs get little or nothing.

All eyes are looking into the LISCR direction in a truculent manner to see whether the win against 'strong in Buchanan' Mighty Barrolle will make them earn their just salary or there could even be huge bonus.
