Who
Represents Liberia At FIFA?

LFA Boss Musa Bility
By Sporting Harris
The Liberia Football Association and the world football
governing body FIFA are yet to reach a conclusion on the
pronouncement of Rochelle Woodson as Liberia’s female
representative to the FIFA Committee for Women's Football
and the FIFA Women's World Cup (TM) for 2015, including the
Canadian Female World Cup.
The committee is headed by Worawi Makudi of Thailand, who is
serving as chairman and Theo Zwanziger, vice chair, along
with 16 members and two advisors, including Steffi Jones of
Germany and Walter Sieber of Canada. Liberia and Senegal are
the only two West African countries on the committee
represented by Rochelle Woodson (Liberia) and Fatou Gaye
(Senegal).
The Liberia Football Association is requesting FIFA to
provide full detail on the nomination of Rochelle Woodson.
The process of nominating a name for that position came
about when Mr. Idussa Kaba was then Secretary General of the
FA, but was sacked and replaced by Yanqueh Borsay, who is
currently acting.
Mrs. D. Sheba Brown, whose name was sent to FIFA, was
disqualified. Her disqualification came as the result of the
current slot on the Liberia Football Executive Committee and
not being a former footballer, LFA President Musa Bility.
Mr. Bility however said to his surprise Rochelle Woodson
emerged as the representative from Liberia, adding “We want
to know who did the nomination, because the FA has starting
searching for former female footballers to nominate.”
The local football house has also informed FIFA that
Rochelle Woodson was expelled from the Executive Committee
of the Liberia Football Association regarding misconduct
exhibited in Zimbabwe during Liberia’s 3-0 lost to the
Warriors of Zimbabwe last year.
