- The Board or Who?

- As IE Prexy Cries Foul; LFA Yet To Recognize Him

There are indications that all is not too well within the ranks and file of Liberia's darling club, Invincible Eleven (IE). President Isaac Nyenabo is crying loud against happenings, which tend to undermine his presidency. So, the question being asked in football cycle is "Who is playing politics in I.E?" a club so cherished by its admirers.

The question comes against the backdrop that the Liberia Football Association (LFA) is yet to recognize the presidency of Mr. Nyenabo. By status, it is the Board of IE that should recommend or send to the LFA the name of the president of the team. This, the board is yet to do for the current president.

With the delay to do just that, most fans are confused as to what is obtaining and are beginning to point fingers.

What is of concern, according to fans is that the current Chairman of the IE Board is Mr. Willie Russell, Who earlier supported the bid of presidential contender Cllr. Varney Sherman (LAP) for IE top post.

According to sources, the I.E Acting Board Chairman seriously lobbied on the board for Mr. Sherman to take over the team, but was apposed by some officials of the club.

Varney did not succeed in the process, thus giving Mr. Nyenabo the edge.

Mr. Nyenabo himself was selected, according to fans to head the team as a result of his manifold contributions, which helped to bring to the team from the dungeon of disgrace.

In the wake of these developments, many are shaping blame on members of the I.E Board head by Willard Russell.

This does not mean that Mr. Russell is out rightly blocking the progress of Mr. Isaac Nyenabo, but there are semblances in that direction.

However, in order to verify this information, The Analyst Sports Desks tried to seek audience with Mr.> Russell but to no avail.

Due to the enormity of the problem, Mr. Nyenabo last Saturday spoke to the press. He said since the ascendancy of his leadership about five months ago by the Board of Directors, he is yet to be recognized by the local football house.

He described the satiation as "discouraging and frustrating," adding that such happening is hampering the smooth operation of the team.

Mr. Nyenabo said his leadership has since communicated with members of Board to inquire of the cause of the action by the LFA.

"I am confused as to why the leadership of the Board has not yet acknowledged the local football house about my appointment," he asked despondently.

Mr. Nyenabo said why it is true that the fans and other members of club recognize him, but it was necessary that the rightful process be applied.

He revealed that the team has just received a letter from the FA concerning LISCR F.C withdrawal from the international competition and asked I.E to fill the gap since they are the runner-up.

In the wake of wrangling, he furthered that it is difficult for his leadership to encourage such, while authority at the LFA has refused to recognize him. But the question being asked in many quarters is why the LFA has to write the team of the man she refused to recognize as president to fill a vacancy created by the withdrawal of another team.

Whether such decision makes sense or not is any body's guess, sport lovers said.

The I.E Boss said that this satiation was dangerous for the improvement of the game in the county.
