Liberia National U-20 female team has finally
arrived in Algeirs, Algeria to honor the Confederation of African
Football (CAF) U-20 female championship competition.
Speaking to The Liberiansoccer.com on phone, the
head of the team’s delegation David Kortie said the team arrived
in Algeirs on Monday, March 27. Mr. Kortie said the team was
received by the authorities of the Algeria Football Association (AFA)
and taken to a hotel.
The delegation’s head also said their reception
was good and the team began practice session on Tuesday. He
further said the only problem the players were facing is the cool
weather condition but they are confident of getting adjusted
before the match on Sunday April 2.
Liberia National U-20 reaches the next stage of
the competition following the failure of the Guinean counterpart
to show out the game in Monrovia on March 5, at the Antoinette
Tubman Stadium (ATS).
The team left the country on March 26, with 22
men comprising of 18 players and four officials with the newly
elected Female representative at the local football house heading
the delegations.
The 18 players conclude Mamie Kamara, Patricia
Kon, Barsan Barwa, Savannah Jebor, Delcontee Sayon and Monica
Cooper. The others are Jestina Jipplay, Patience Williams,
Christiana Myers, Amelia Washington and Famatta Boimah.
The rest are Patricia Allison, Famitta Dean,
Teta Davies, Bendus Gio, Florence Monboe and Yennie George. The 18
player were given US$25 each as per diem for the long trip to
Algeria.
