Weah, Debbah show up at Accra Stadium

The Black Queens of Ghana, which was captained by George Weah lose 2-0 in a Special Charity match to the U-23 side also of Ghana, Black Meteors.

The game that was played last Thursday was the fifth time the UNICEF Ambassador was in Accra to help raise funds for worthwhile purposes in Ghana.

Playing along side fellow Liberian and Al Jazirah teammate, James Debbah, the Former FIFA player of the year showed up again at the Accra Stadium to help raise funds for the Black Queens.

The Ghana Women football team will bear Africa's torch at the forthcoming FIFA Women World Cup along side Nigeria's Super Falcons.

Under the watchful tutelage of German Coach, Burkhard Ziese, the Black Meteors got the match opener in the 16th minute through Joe Tagoe and was two goals up 20 minutes later from a Barrasu Ahmed's looping strike.

Weah who turns 37 year old in October tried to unveil traces of his once ace display , but his adroit dribbling and eliminating tactics forced some great saves out of the Black Meteors goalkeeper.

The match that hold up for only 40th minutes gathered much fireworks and tremendous exhibition of the both teams.

The Black Meteors will host their Liberian counterparts next month in the 2004 Olympic Qualifiers.
