A host of clubs at the Liberia Football Association (LFA) are
plotting for the removal of president the FA's boss Sombo Izetta as
well as Pennoh Bestman and Adolph Lawrence, Vice President for
Administration and Operations respectively.
With the visit of the FIFA West African development officer and two
other members of the world football governing body in town, the
clubs are said to be planning to put forth a petition to the trio
for the removal of the FA's executives.
The President of Mighty Blue Diamond is has been vocal on issues in
the media recently describing the LFA as been in a poor state and as
such the three executives must call it a day. "It is an open secret
that the game has seriously decline, these people (LFA officials)
need to give way for people with the passion and urge as a means of
driving the forward", he indicated in a local daily.
On Friday, presidents of various Premier, First, Second as well as
female football met the FIFA delegation at the VIP Section of the
Antoinette Tubman Stadium (ATS) and put forth a host of salient
issues which amongst other things called for the postponement of the
national league which according to the FA starts on March 28, the
cancellation of the 200,00 Liberian dollars fee for the transfer of
a player as well as the holding of congress before any league.
They also noted that the league lack sponsorship and that it is
poorly organized. Furthermore, they called for more dialogue.
The world football governing body announced that it will be sending
materials which include footballs, boots, jerseys, shin guards , ect.
worth USD 50, 000 for Premier and female clubs by May this year.
The group was expected also met with the LFA executive committee on
Saturday.
