UNMIL Youth Soccer Tournament Gains Momentum

Action at the Walker Field, Broad Street

     The UNMIL Community Policing Youth Soccer Tournament has gained momentum as it reaches its second phase with more soccer events at two different venues in Monrovia.

    The tournament will continue this weekend with several exciting matches to be played at both the Walker Field on Broad Street and the Saye Town football pitch in Sinkor.

    The tournament is designed for the U-13, U-15, and some six female soccer teams.

    According to the tournament’s second phase fixer, the Powerful Vision FC will tomorrow, battle with the Varmah FC in the first match on that day; while Bassa Town Young Star FC would interface the ASCE FC.

    The Soccer Professionals will lurk horns with Cywanpar FC, while the Super Sonic will meet Gaba Chop Lions FC in an all day U-15 affairs.

     On the same day, Young Star FC will rub shoulders with Guinea FC by 3:40pm, as the Gbateah Town FC engages Obeco Youth FC in the day’s last clash.

    On Sunday, Tele Care FC will play Togba FC at 11:00 a.m. in the day’s first match, while Yes FC will battle Jallah Town Ambassador at 12:10 p.m. in the last U-15 match for the day.

    The U-13 matches would be played at the Walker Field, with six matches scheduled for Saturday.

     Firstly, the Ivory Coast will clash with the Alex FC at 11:00a.m., whereas the Arsenal FC will take on the Y-Soccer Ambassador as the second match of the day.

    Cywenpan FC will meet the Jallah Town Ambassador in the day’s third match; while Bassa Town Young Star fight it out with the Sonic Dominator; and, the Young Star FC will challenge the God Blessed You FC in the day’s fourth and fifth matches respectively, at the same venue. The Soccer Star FC will trash it out with the Gaba Chop Young in the day’s last match at 4:50 p.m.


      In the Female Division, the Royal Girls will take on the Bantor Old Road FC in the day’s first match at the Saye Town football pitch, while the Girls’ Young FC will clash with the Pagos Island; the Cywenpar FC will meet Sonic Star FC in the Saturday’s third and fourth matches, respectively.
