Two friendly matches were played at the weekend around Monrovia.

The games were in preparation for this year’s football league. It featured three premierships and a first division team.

A friendly match between newly promoted premiership club Black FC and Mighty Barrolle was played at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium.

Mighty Barrolle forced Black Star to a 1-1 draw in a classical showdown. Cyrus Toomey put Black Star ahead in the 19th minute.

Alex Nimely drew level for Barrolle in the 49th minute. Elsewhere LISCR FC defeated Gedi & Sons in a friendly match.

LISCR dragged Gedi & Sons 2 goals to 0 . Ben Nyanfore and Amos Zarro were the scorers for LISCR.

LISCR scored a goal in each half. The game was played at the Lott Carey Mission School football field in Brewerville.
