Top Swedish Coaches Set to Visit Liberia



Two top Swedish coaches will arrive in Monrovia next week at the invitation of Sports for the Development of the Underprivileged (SDU).

Sven Sjunnesson, a former coach of top club Malmo FC Academy and Bjorn Peters, coach of one of Sweden's top Second Division side, will meet with officials of the Liberian Football Association, the Government, Soccer Ambassador George Weah, the Liberia Football Players Association (LIFOPA) with the aim of helping Liberia with a long term Youth Program.

The top Swedish coach Sven, who also runs an Academy in Ghana, is also seeking to explore the possibility of handling the national team the Lone Star and all of Liberia's youth teams.

"we are coming with a five year program that includes youth development, training of coaches from all levels of the country", Bjorn added. Sven , who holds a UEFA license in coaching, is regarded as a coach who can turn any youth program into gold. He wants to see Liberia focus more on youth development.

Both men also will explore the possibility with SDU to open up a soccer academy.
