The son of a veteran of Liberian soccer, Josiah Nimely
Johnson, popular known as JNJ, is being chased by top clubs in the
Liberian Premier League.
The player, Tubman Johnson, who is currently visiting
Monrovia disclosed that since his arrival from abroad, both Mighty
Barrolle and LISCR FC have contacted him for a possible move.
Tubman Johnson, who reached Monrovia from Ghana, said he has
been studying the offers put forward, with discussions going on, but
nothing has been agreed with either side.
He, however, expressed that his desire to play football in
the leagues of Europe and Asia are his main focus now.
Little Johnson revealed that his agent is presently
negotiating for his contract in Indonesia, while there are other
offers available for him to play in Europe, where his little brother
Dulee Johnson plays for BK Hacken in Sweden.
In case the player decides to stay in Monrovia for a while,
it is likely that he would prefer to join Mighty Barrolle, the club
his father is serving as Vice President for Technical Affairs,
having played the roles of player and coach of the Red Family.
Before returning to Liberia, Johnson had been featuring for
Shoes FC on the Liberian refugee camp in Buduburam, Ghana.
While serving as a refugee, he made his debut for the
national team Lone Star in 2003 against the Sylli Nationale of
Guinea during the 2004 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Thereafter, he traveled with the Lone Star to Niger.
He had stint with Ghanaian first division side Stay Cool
Professionals, the club which also hired former Invincible Eleven
(IE) player Joseph Pailey, who later moved to Cameroon.
Johnson had offers from glamorous club Asante Kotoko
following a test match against them, and along with Murphy Nagbe, he
almost joined Tonnerre Klara Club in Cameroon.
He went for trials in Burkina Faso, Niger and in Togo for Agassa
Club along with Ope Myers.
