3/ 17/ 2004 Monrovia-The first female
President of the Liberia Football Association (LFA), Cllr. S. Izetta
Wesley, has gotten another CAF assignment.
In a chat with our Correspondent before her departure for The Gambia,
Cllr. Wesley said she was named by CAF to commission the 2nd leg match
involving Walladan of The Gambia and Djoliba of Mali.
The latest assignment is the second for Cllr. Wesley in three weeks.
She recently commissioned the 2nd leg match involving the U-23 sides
of Ghana and Algeria for the 2004 Olympics.
The Liberia FA Chief is also a Match Commissioner for the West African
Football Union (WAFU). Her ascendancy to the LFA automatically
qualifies her as a CAF match commissioner. She has commissioned many
matches under the auspices of WAFU and CAF.
Meanwhile, Cllr. Wesley is expected to assess the performance of a
Liberian defender plying his trade for Djoliba of Mali. Based on the
player's performance, she could recommend to the National
football team, the Lone Star technical staff for him to be invited for
justification.
Of late Liberia match officials have been getting CAF assignments due
to good performance. Recently three referees got assignment and have
just returned home.
