Tension
Brews In the Transfer of Amadaiya

What could be described as tension is brewing in the apparent
transfer of former Liberia Football Association (LFA) national
league Most Valuable Player Amadaiya Rennie. The sublime dribbler
who left Liberia a couple of months ago for trial in Sweden has so
far established himself on the reserve side of Swedish premiership
side Elfsborg.
Credible reports emanating from the camp of the oilers who own the
player indicate that his International Transfer Certificate (ITC)
has already been sent to Sweden which has given him the green light
to play. Sources at the oilers note that they were not acknowledged
on the issue by the LFA and that the document for the player was
sent in the name of fellow premiership side Mighty Barrolle.
It can be recollected that the lanky, sublimely gifted winger cum
center forward featured for Mighty Barrolle in the spice less top
flight league last season after his club oilers failed to take part
on grounds that holding the league during the rainy season was not
conducive.
The LFA however made an eyebrow raising decision as it declared
players of the non participating teams free agents. This made the
heavy weighted non participating clubs furious as the likes of
oilers, LISCR, NPA and others put forth such complain to FIFA at the
Zurich meeting last year. FIFA has since urged the LFA to do away
with such ugly decision which is in no way in the interest of
football development.
Also, LISCR had the bragging rights a couple of months ago after its
player Patrick "Ronaldinho" Wleh went to Israel as a player of local
premiership side FC AK. The club protested to FIFA and the player
was sent back to Liberia on grounds that he was a property of LISCR
and not any other club, thus serving as a pointer that the decision
of the FA to term players of clubs free for not participating in a
particular league season has since been nullified.
If this is anything to go by, then the claim by the oilers that
Amadaiya is their property is certainly authentic and must as well
be acknowledged and in fact benefit from any sort of transfer for
player Amadaiya Rennie whom they transferred two seasons ago from
LISCR FC. The lad has won six caps for the senior national team, the
Lone Star since making his debut in the friendly in March 2008
against Sudan.
