He is very good, I have seen him a couple of times on TV.

The first time I ever heard about Freddy Adu was in the newspapers, where people compared him to Pele. Later, I heard that the likes of Manchester United and Inter were interested in bringing him. So, yeah, I would say that he really is a wonder-kid. A future super star of soccer.

Too bad he's not playing for his native country Ghana. Too bad for African sport.

Freddy Adu rose to extreme heights when he played high school soccer in the USA. High school soccer was far below his standard coming out of Ghana. So, he made it to the top with ease (no competitor). Now in the MLS, the game is hard for the dude because there's much competition, maybe at his actual skill level or maybe not. He starts the game on the bench even though we all know that every player doesn't start the game on the field. Yet still, it makes me to think that Freddy Adu still has some mountains to climb now that he's playing pro. About a month ago, he was dropped from the National Team (I did not catch reasons why).

Manchester United was in pursuit for her Junior/Youth Team, not for the EPL squad. Freddy is a good player from what I have seen and heard but not as competitive as the BIG Names - Ronaldo, Pele , George Weah, Ronaldhino, Abedi Pele, Tony Yeaboah, etc.

Yea right! He's 16. I mean I love to see soccer and many good skillful work. Freddy could do more, no doubt here. You have a point. Christiano Ronaldo played on the Youth Team in his home country before being spotted by Sir Alex Ferguson. Had Freddy Adu been in Ghana at that age and playing among his skill or talent-level competitors, would he be living large in the Soccer World like he is doing now? I don't have an answer here.

I sa the kid play LIVE..He played against ZIZI in a game in Denver. He was so small and too easy to move off the ball..The game plan was to be physical with him..This threw his game off....Now I see he is older and stronger..He is making moves and holding the ball better...He will be Good if not Great...His plan is to go to Eurpoe Next Year..lets see what will happen then.

Chelsea have moved closer to getting a double deal for Michael Ballack and Freddy Adu. (Mirror)

I think acquiring Freddy Adu  could be  a good  idea  but the kid has to get adjusted to being a regular for D.C United, when it comes to playing among the likes of  Lampard, Rooney, and Ronaldo,  Adu lack what it takes. He has to be nutured before making such a leap, not that it is impossible, but it could relegate  his potential.
