Four-time African champions Cameroon won Group Five in June with Equatorial Guinea assured of second spot. But Rwanda were keen to impress the home fans and scored two first goals through Kamana Labama and Saidi Abed in Kigali. Jeannot Witakenge and Olivier Karekezi struck the other goals as Rwanda climbed to six points, two more than Liberia.
