African Internationals in the UK this week!

Some of Africa’s biggest stars- junior and senior will be on show in England in the coming week.

Nigeria vs Australia
(Friendly International)
3:00pm, Saturday November 17th 2007
Craven Cottage, Fulham FC, London.
Tickets: 0870 442 1234 or available online (£18-27, concessions £12)

Berti Vogts and the Nigerian FA have arranged a comprehensive schedule of friendlies in preparation for January and they kick start that against Australia on Saturday. Expect big support and big names from both teams in a colourful and exiting clash.

“This will be our penultimate game before the African Cup of Nations and having the game in London means we can call upon our strongest squad. We expect many thousands of Super Eagles fans will back us for this match to see such a team.” Berti Vogts

England vs Ghana (U-18 Friendly International)
7:00pm, Tuesday November 20th 2007
Priestfield Stadium, Gillingham FC.
Tickets: 01634 300 000 (£3 in advance, £5 on the gate, £1 concessions)

Ghana’s Black Starlets caused a stir in South Korea at the Under-17 World Cup where they just missed out on the Bronze medal. Ghanaian fans will be hoping that they impress again as they look to recapture that form against England at the Priestfield Stadium next week.

Players to Watch: (Unless Le Roy calls them up to the senior squad!)

Daniel Opare- The best right back at the U-17 World Cup by a mile and he’s attracted attention from some top clubs since.

Ransford Osei- Silver boot winner in Korea with 6 goals in 7 games. Linked with Liverpool and Manchester Utd- is he the real deal? Decide for yourself.

New African Soccer Magazine will be on sale at both games. Look out for our vendors outside the stadiums.

Can anyone provide me a way of contacting George Weah's charitable organizations. I am a foster parent of two Liberian boys living in the US. I am initiating a project of collecting barely used soccer and basketball uniforms from high schools in my state. My goal would be to have these shipped to Monrovia to be redistributed to poor city and towns in Liberia with emphasis on refugee camps in neighboring countries.

Any suggestions or leads would be appreciated.

Thank you.
