Is chris Gbandi mature enough to anchor our defense or do we need another defender in the mode of Jimmy Dickson. I know Ben Teeklolh can play in the defense. But we still do not have depth. It should be a priorty for the coach. Assemble a defensive unit

I agree with you, bro. The coach needs to do something about our defense. We need more depth there.
It would be very good if we get a new defender of Jimmy Dixon's size, someone who is tall and strong, who can play alongside with him as a cenral defender or, for example, replace Jimmy from the bench (imagine what would happen if Jimmy was injured).
Chris Gbandi plays on the left side. I don't know how well he can play in the central area. So, I would "leave him" there.
We have another problem in the defense and that is our RIGHT back. I can only see Ben Teekloh playing in that position right now.
So, the best defensive line-up, in my opinion, looks like this:
DR- Ben Teekloh
DC- Jimmy Dixon
DC- George Gebro
DL- Chris Gbandi
To have and not to give is often worse than to steal - George Weah

Yes, we need quality depth at defense. The following are defenders that I am aware of:
Jimmy Dixon, Shelton Barlee, Fallah, Johnson, Murphy Nagbe, Chris Gbandi, Varmah Kpoto, George Gebro, Zizi Roberts (if healthy) and Ben Teekloh. The best starting line upin my opinion is:
LB = Chris Gbandi or (Ben Teekloh)
LCB = Fallah Johnson or (Murphy Nagbe)
RCB = Jimmy Dikon
RB = Shelton Barlee or (Varmah Kpoto)
If Zizi is healthy I will go with this one:
LB = Chris Gbandi
LCB = Jimmy Dixon
RCB = Zizi Roberts
RB = Shelton Barlee

Liberia needs defenders of Zizi Roberts stature. Defenders who are well-built, not giant now, with good handling flares and heading tactics.
Most importantly, we need robust midfielders, as Makor is aging, and because most of quality players are short, we still have a lot of works on our hands.
Serously, we need players. We can't boost of 11 full-fledged players at the moment.

I just watched chris Gbandi play for Dallas FC against Kansas city Wizards. i was not too impressed with his speed. For a left back, he got burnt too many times and eventually got a straight red card in the 70th for a tackle from behind. The player left Gbandi in his strides and was headed for goal.
He showed some good 1 v 1 defending, but hardly got forward. I would take Esiah Benson over him in that position, frankly. Chris could compete for a spot in the center along with Jimmy Dickson.
By the way, if he can't keep up with the speed of MLS players, he's going to have a hard time with african attackers. I just hope that he just had an off day today and is much better than that. I saw him in college. He looked solid and controlling. Today, he looked lethargic, unassertive, and a step off.
Boring game by the way!
