TIKVA
Drops Lomell

Twenty-four years old Liberian International James Koko Lomell has
being dropped by Israeli top flight side Hapoel Petah Tikva due to
what authorities of the club describe as "poor form".
According to the ever blue website, the 17 capped Liberian
international had to part company with the club as he has failed to
make an impression and even win a starting line up position since
joining the club at the beginning of the current 2009/2010 season.
The midfielder cum striker who many predicted would be one of the
greatest Liberian players after the likes of George Weah, James Debbah
and others has thus failed miserably in Israel which is seemingly a
difficult hunting ground for Liberian players as far as the top flight
in that part of the world is concerned.
It can be recollected that the 25 year old Dulee Johnson had to return
to Sweden with AIK Solna after his disappointing spell with Meccabi
Tel Aviv last season.
As for Lomell, he has0 being a peripheral member of the squad and his
fellow countryman George Gebro who is 28 years old is reportedly not
in a rich vein of form.
The 20 year old Ghanaian striker Osman Bashiru is regarded as the
team's live wire. The youngster who is currently on loan from
Ghanaian club King Faisal Babes is regularly grabbing the headlines
in Israel.
Also, 23 years old Togolese international defender Emmanuel Mathias is
also said to be in good form for the club.
Regrettably, Hopel Petah Tikva under the guidance of manager Shavit
Elimelech are struggling in the league as they find themselves in the
relegation zone at the 15th spot in the 16 teams competition with 10
points from 11 games. They managed to score just nine goals, conceding
21, winning just two matches, losing five and drawing four.
The club chairman Danny Levy has meanwhile set his sight on the market
as he put top on his shopping list the names of some quality players
whom he believe can save them from relegation.
Tikva was founded in 1934 and ended at the tenth spot last season.
