TARPEH SIGNS IN
CAMEROON

Former LPRC Oilers forward David Tarpeh has signed a lucrative deal in
Cameroon with elite side Panthere. Reports from the Central African
country says, the player put pen to paper after impressing the club in
a major pre season tournament.
The player who is widely known as 'Jacques Chirac', is expected to
lead the club's attack in the Cameroonian MTN championship chase which
begins on September 26.
Speaking to Liberiansoccer.com, the player who came to the limelight
when he styled for Logan Town based outfit Small Town International
indicated "I want to bless God for the breakthrough. I believe in
Psalms 30 and 35, and my God has heard my cry. I will work harder to
help Panthere win something at the end of the season".
The glossy left footer is endowed with great power, precision and goal
scoring instinct. He had a stint last season with current Cameroonian
champs Tiko where he had as club mate country man Omega Roberts, the
defender who is an international is now said to be plying his trade in
Congo Brazzaville.
Tarpeh the 'danger man' also had expedition in Equatorial Guinea with
Lacimento where he partnered with the Liberian born international
Laurence Sokota Doe. He also featured for Mogas 90 of Benin as well as
clubs in Guinea Bissau and Mali.
At the same time, Tarpeh is expected to miss this Sunday's clash with
Astres de Douala in a Cup Final. The striker is injured and would be
on the side line for ten days.
Panthere last season had in its fold former Mighty Barrolle wide man
Morris DUkuly who is now show casing his talent in the top flight of
Equatorial Guinea.
Cameroon has always been a success path for Liberians since the
success story of the legendary George Oppong Manneh Weah. It can be
recollected that that Weah made headways at Tonnerre Klara Club de
Yaounde for just six months before moving to French club AS Monaco.
Other notable Liberians who featured in that league include: James
Salinsa Debbah, Joe Nagbe Oliver Makor and James Ojugu Monie of Union
Sportif de Douala. David momo Jr. was an asset of Tonnerre, while the
once gritty striker Victor Tehto Konwlor made in-roads at Canon de
Yaounde before moving to French club AS Cannes
Current Al-Ahly forward Francis Grand Pa Doe and Romanian club Farul
Constanta all-rounder Ben Teekloh styled for Tonerre as well and were
losing finalists in the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Cup to
Algerian side JS Kabilye.
Zah rahan Krangar was at attacking pillar of Racing Bafouson, Aloysius
Pennie also had a stint there as well.
Manchester City youth team kin-pin Alex Nimely won the cup with Cotton
Sport Garoua, Israeli based Victor Pony Carr exploded at Union Douala,
while current Watanga FC hit-man 'master -P Burmah had stints with
Union Douala and Astres de Douala.
Of late Melvin Okoro Kicmett featured for Tonerre and Union Douala,
while Pitman Wleh, now at Deportivo Mongomo of Equatorial Guinea also
had a stint there.
