The Ministry of Youth and Sports has released financial report for the
just ended National County meet.
The Ministry in a release said it raised three millions, one hundred
thirty thousand, one hundred twenty seven Liberian dollars from the
jamboree.
The release said the amount was accumulated from gate-intakes,
quarter, semi, and grand final matches played at Samuel Kayon Doe
Sports Complex.
The Ministry said it distributed the sum of two hundred and eighty
three thousand, eight hundred sixty-sixty dollars, twelve cents to
participating counties, while two millions eleven thousand, eight
hundred ninety-one dollars , and thirty two cents were expended on
county Meet related activities.
The sports ministry further said the balance eight hundred thirty nine
thousand, three hundred sixty nine dollars and fifty six cents is
currently being used as initial funding fee for the on going training
of the All-star team recently recruited from the County Meet.
The report did not however say how much was generated from the other
disciplines such as basketball, volleyball and athletics.
Some sports analysts have criticized the report, terming it as being
one sided.
