Inauguration Tournament Set for Jan. 12

The special inauguration tournament organized by the Ministry of Youth
and Sports(MYS) in collaboration with the Ministry of Internal
Affairs(MIA), is now set for January 12, 2006 with eight counties
participating.
The tournament is expected to be played on a knock-out basis, under
the theme “National Healing”.
The eight participating counties have been placed in two groups. Group
A hosts Lofa, Grand Gedeh, Sinoe and Margibi; while in Group B, Grand
Bassa, Gbarpolu, Nimba and Bong counties are expected to rub
shoulders.
According to the organizers, no player on the national team, premier
and first divisions will be allowed to participate in the pending
tournament, only players in the third and fourth divisions ands below
would be accepted to play in the tourney.
The opening match of the tourney on January 12 will see Lofa County
knocking horns with Sinoe County, while Grand Gedeh will meet Nimba in
the second match of the day.
On day two of the tourney, Gbarpolu will lock horns with Bong County
in the first match of the day, while in the second match, Grand Gedeh
will rub shoulders with Margibi County at the Antoinette Tubman
Stadium (ATS).
