Resigns LFA Presidency

Cllr. Izetta Sombo Wesley ,Edwin Snowe and
other members of the LFA
At the 10th Ordinary session of the Liberia Football Association (LFA)
Congress, Edwin Snowe resigned his post as President of the FA due to
what he termed overload of work.
Snowe addressing congress members said though he regretted the
decision, he had to so to give chance to other sports administrators,
naming the likes of Cllr. Izetta Sombo Wesley, who has automatically
ascended to the FA Presidency in keeping with the LFA Statutes, George
Weah, who previously expressed interest in becoming the FA President
in future elections and Monrovia Black Star President Pennon Bestman,
who once ran for the Vice President for Administration slot and
lost to CLlr. Wesley.
"I regret leaving this body that elected me the last time on a white
ballot. But I have to do this owing to my present job which cannot
afford me to serve you the way I should," Mr. Snowe maintained.
Commenting further, Snowe said though he has resigned his post, he
will still work along with the LFA in completing the Antoinette Tubman
Stadium (ATS) under the FIFA Goal Project.
The Architect of the ATS, Snowe however confessed that he was leaving
the local football house with a heavy heart for failing to complete
the works at the stadium.
In a related development, Mr. Snowe made an appeal to stakeholders of
the LFA to encourage the new LFA President Cllr. Izetta Wesley, Amb.
George Weah and others to step into the leadership of the football
house in the country.
MR. Snowe said people like George Weah, Cllr. S.Izetta Wesley and
Pennon Bestman must he encouraged to help develop football in Liberia.
Meanwhile, Cllr. Wesley who ascended to the Presidency of the local
football house in keeping with statutes lauded stakeholders of the FA
for a successful assembly.
