Shaky Starts For Bomi & Lofa
-As County Kicked off

 Defending champions in the football category of the National County meet, Bomi County had a shark start to her quest of retaining the championship after the county suffered a 3-0 defeat at home in Tubmanberg to determined Margibi County.

According to information gathered from Tubmanberg, Bomi County, the boys of Gibi dominated the match from start to finish with their effort paying off well in such crucial win.

Before that encounter, the girls of Bomi edged their counterparts from Margibi 10-9.

Margibi now tops group one after such well earned victory over the defending champions.

At the grand opening of the National County meet in Sanniquellie, Nimba County where the President of the Republic of Liberia, Madam Ellen Johnson was in attendance, the host, Nimba and rival, Grand Gedeh County settled to a 1-1 draw in football before their thousands of fans as well as lawmakers.

Before the epic clash, the girls of Nimba walloped the girls of Grand Gedeh 22-6 homes to put them in gear for qualification to the Samuel Kanyan Doe (SKD) sports complex in Paynesville, Monrovia.

 In Voinjama, Lofa County, the host, Lofa, after showcasing in the semi final of the previous edition, put their qualification in a shaky situation with a 2-1 losing to County Meet heavy weight, Rivercess, while their girls were also whitewashed 25-1 in the kickball category.

The green, red and white outfit will have to win at all cost against Gbarpolu County in Bopolu to see if they can book a place in the knockout at the SKD in Monrovia.

Elsewhere in Greenville, Grand Kru County, host Grand Kru and 2007 champions, Bong County settled to a 0-0 draw, but the girls of Grand Kru smiled with a narrow 3-2 victory over the visitors.

Meanwhile, the National County meet is expected to continue over the weekend of December 19, 2009 with some ambitious encounters around the country.

In Harper, Maryland County, defender champions Bomi will hope to put her championship hope back on course when she meet host Maryland County in what promises to be a tricky test.

According to information gathered, Maryland County Legislative caucus has promised players of the County huge bonuses if they pull a win in their first match of the competition.

Bomi County championship hope will be brought to an end if she fails to win against Maryland.

In Greenville, Sinoe County, the host will welcome Grand Bassa County that has had lackluster performances in the competition for a protracted period.

Reports say Grand Gassa has reinforced her squad with the arrival of new head coach, David Doe who is determine to pull surprises for the county after bringing on board some talented players.

The last match of the weekend will see Rivercess County launch an operation to be the first county to book a place in the knockout when she takes on Gbarpolu County at home in Cestos City.
