FOOTBALL/ FA CUP: Seton’s late strike sinks Selangor

PAHANG needed a late goal from Liberian Joseph Seton to beat Selangor
1-0 in their FA Cup second round first leg match at Kuantan’s
Darukmakmor Stadium last night.
Seton netted the winner in the 80th minute in a match that lacked
passion.
Both teams, rooted at the bottom of the Super League, had plenty to
prove but they appeared slow and lethargic.
At the Petaling Jaya Stadium, Sarawak earned a healthy advantage when
they beat Selangor PKNS 3-1.
PKNS received a rude shock as early as the fourth minute when Mohd
Safee Sali directed a cross from Raymos Sari into the net.
In the last minute of the first half, the 1992 FA Cup champions
received a free kick that was taken by Raymos and B. Rajanikahn sent
it into the net.
Sarawak continued to torment the hosts when Robert Eshun scored the
third goal in the 63rd minute after collecting a pass from Moegamad
Ggunaidhartley.
The only goal for PKNS came though a penalty kick taken by Elvis Coric
in the 90th minute.
It was the same story for the home team at the Hang Jebat Stadium in
Malacca, where Malacca TM crashed to a 3-0 defeat at the hands of
Negri Sembilan Naza.
Nigerian Christian Bekamengo did the job with goals in the 16th and
43rd minutes.
Their third goal came from Khairul Anuar Baharum in the 50th minute.
